Many are asking what the advantages and disadvantages of a digital SLR camera system. In general, all DSLR cameras is almost the same: a large sensor, has the function of manual and digital. What distinguishes usually is a feature and a collection of lenses and accessories.
It’s hard to say which system is best because each has advantages and disadvantages. In addition, each model are different and have their own advantages, disadvantages, too.
According to my observations during this last two-three, I will briefly review some of the uniqueness of the popular DSLR camera system.
1. CANON EOS DSLR Cameras
Canon: One of the DSLR camera system of the most popular cameras in the world. Canon lens has a complete collection of low-quality to high. The camera is also a full-camera for beginners to very advanced for upscale professionals.
I love the camera-Canon brand camera beginner compared to other brands such as Canon 1000D camera beginners, 500D and 550D I think it is easy to use, the interface and menus are also very neat and well-organized. Lack of beginner Canon camera that is material is rather cheap and not so good grip.
The last two years, more focus in the development of Canon DSLR cameras that can record video clips. Until recently, almost all Canon DSLR cameras surpass its competitors in the affairs of the video recording.
2. NIKON DSLR Cameras
Nikon: Same as Canon, Nikon system can be spelled quite complete. Many high-quality Nikon lenses and more expensive than Canon. I like Nikon cameras particularly sophisticated (D300s, D700, D3) because the auto focus works very well, probably the best compared to other brands. Control of noise at high ISO is also a class above other brands, making it suitable to be used for photos in a dark room conditions.
Unlike the Canon, I do not much like a beginner camera Nikon (D40, D60, D3000, D3100) for inter-face I think is not good. For example the menu structure is less tidy and also the buttons available to access the less frequently used settings. In addition, beginners Nikon camera has no auto focus motor so that for some long lens, can not use auto focus (manual only).
3. SONY ALPHA DSLR Cameras
Sony: Sony is a relatively new entrants, but the technology that uses technology in the acquisition of Konica Minolta Sony several years ago. Sony pretty aggressive and a lot out new models every year, but the models are similar-similar camera. Sony also has a row of camera models from which to beginners through to professional, even for professionals who are not as sophisticated and as much as Canon and Nikon.
There is some uniqueness in Sony cameras compared to Canon and Nikon. For instance cameras there-camera features built-in steady shot that helps prevent image blur due to vibration of our hands (if Canon & Nikon feature is located on the lens). So many Sony camera also has two sensors so that auto focus auto focus during live view mode (such as a pocket camera) is much faster than other brand camera. In addition, many models of Sony cameras that have LCD screens that can in turn making it easier for the composition of the photo above the head or under the foot.
In its development, beginner camera Sony is not so changed in its features, most only a few design changes. For advanced camera options, Sony does not offer much, A700 and A900 long enough not be renewed.
On the other hand, Sony is heavily in producing the similar cameras such as Sony DSLR A55, A33, and Sony Nex-5, Nex-3.
4. PENTAX DSLR Cameras
Pentax: Pentax could say a small player in the field of DSLR camera, but Pentax camera design is actually quite good. Focus Pentax in the last few years is to be different (Be Different). Pentax digital SLR cameras such as km, kx small but sturdy with a feature that is quite competitive. The uniqueness of this camera is to use the universal AAA batteries, so if you run out of batteries, can be directly purchased at the nearest store. Pentax kx is also available in various colors like white and red.
Then Pentax also has a K7 and K5, which advanced SLR-sized camera is not so great, but bear in bad weather, including extremely cold conditions. The system, Pentax lens collection is not as much as the big three (Canon, Nikon, Sony), but Pentax has a lens – a lens prime / fixed a very small and of high quality such as Pentax 70mm f/2.4, 31mm f/1.4 and so on. 5. OLYMPUS DSLR Cameras
Olympus: Olympus DSLR system uniqueness lies in the size of the camera and lens are relatively smaller and thinner. This is because Olympus uses sensors 4:3 (four thirds), which is smaller than any DSLR above. Consequently the maximum image quality from 4:3 sensor is a bit less, especially at high ISO. However, Olympus photo quality is much better than a pocket camera. Although small, the camera except Olympus E-420 model, there are also features built-in vibration dampers.
Last year was the year that is less encouraging in the development of Olympus DSLR system. In that year, Olympus announced it will concentrate ourselves to the development of micro four thirds (like a digital SLR camera is smaller) and stop the renewal of the lens for a DSLR.
